Rick's stellar career includes stints with the prestigious Southern Mississippi Marching Pride, The Garfield Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, and The 27th Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps. He has taught high drum lines and consults for various drum and bugle corps and marching band around the country.
Rick has won the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) individual snare drum championship for the years 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003.
The author was a former member of the National Association of Rudimental Drummer (N.A.R.D) and The International Association of Rudimental Percussionists (I.A.R.P.) and is the founder of Drummers for RUdimental Mastery (D.R.U.M.)
